Non-wood Equivalent to NBSK

Cereal grain (wheat, oat, barley, rye) straw stalks are primarily composed of cellulose fibers that are roughly dimensionally similar to the cellulose fibers of hardwood trees.  The pulping process that SustainaPulp will use is engineered to gently extract and bleach the fiber from cereal grain straw without damaging it so as to produce a market grade of paper pulp equivalent to NBHK with brightness in the low to mid 80's.

Oil seed flax straw stalks are composed of cellulose fibers that are longer than those of softwood trees but can be pulped to produce a market grade of paper pulp equivalent to NSK.  The pulping process that SustainaPulp will use is engineered to gently extract, size, and bleach the fiber from the oil seed flax plant straw without damaging it so as to produce a market grade of paper pulp equivalent to NBSK with brightness in the low to mid 80's.

Non-wood Equivalent Pulp Products

SustainaPulp mills will produce non-wood fiber (pulp) for paper making that is nominally equivalent to the common market grade fibers NBHK and NBSK.  Our fiber products will be marketed as form/fit/function non-wood paper recipe alternatives to these market grade fibers.  We will offer custom fiber specifications upon request. Each SustainaPulp mill will produce 135,000 ADMT/year.
